‘This Isn't Really My Aesthetic:' Miley Cyrus Disses Engagement Ring on Ellen

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Miley Cyrus doesn’t think so.

The actress/singer told Ellen DeGeneres Thursday her engagement ring isn’t exactly her style. Her beau Liam Hemsworth’s jewelry taste clashes with her vibe, which is more gummy bear than prize jewel.

“Sometimes I like replace it with an actual unicorn or a looney toon, and he’s kind of like, ‘What’s going on?’ And it’s like, ‘Well this isn’t really my aesthetic, but I’ll wear it ’cause you love me,’” she said.

During the show Cyrus also talked about stumping for Hillary Clinton in Virginia, where she visited George Mason University and spoke with students.

“It wasn’t about what a horrible guy Trump is, nasty guy Trump is,” she said. “It was really about what a great woman she is, and we would choose her no matter what.

“I think she’s a total goddess, and I just love her,” Cyrus added.

Cyrus said she felt the need to address former Bernie Sanders supporters, of which she was one during the primaries.

“I was kind of speaking to those people that now find themselves undecided, which I find ridiculous because in life we don’t always get the choices that we want, we don’t always get what we want, and so you deal with what you have,” she said.

Cyrus was such an overt Bernie fan because she appreciated how progressive his record had always been on LGBTQ rights. But she said that Clinton has shown growth on issues of sexuality, and that’s significant.

“We should celebrate progress and not perfection,” she continued. “That’s something I’ve had to deal with myself.”
