The Mormon Church has threatened a prominent progressive podcaster with excommunication over his support of gay rights and the ordination of women, NBC News reported. John Dehlin has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing on Jan. 25 and has been asked to cease his public support of same-sex marriage and the ordination of women, which he says he won't do. The news comes months after the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints excommunicated Mormon feminist Kate Kelly. Church officials did not immediately return requests for comment.
