Dozens Hurt in Ky. When Field Trip Bus Flips

A chartered tour bus carrying dozens of junior high and high school students and their parents flipped over in Kentucky just moments into its long-haul trip Thursday, injuring dozens. The group was just six miles into a field trip to Washington, D.C., when their bus ran off the right side of the road on a curve in it, Louisville CBS affiliate WLKY reported. The county schools superintendent said that about two dozen people were brought to hospitals for medical treatment, one of them with a head injury and some others with broken bones, but that none of the injuries seemed life-threatening. He also noted that the trip was not school-related and was independently coordinated, with the bus independently chartered, and said he was relieved the accident had not been more serious.
