Town Mourns Boy Who Died Saving 6 From Fire

A New York town Wednesday was grieving the death of an 8-year-old boy who's credited with saving the lives of six people in a trailer fire, only to lose his own while trying to rescue his disabled uncle. Tyler Doohan didn't have class on Monday so he was with several other people at his grandfather's trailer in Penfield, a suburb of Rochester. The trailer caught fire about 4:45 a.m. ET, the Penfield Fire Company said. Tyler was able to wake six people — including two other kids, ages 4 and 6 — who made it out alive, investigators said. Tyler returned to help his uncle in a wheelchair, but the child didn't make it out. By Wednesday evening, almost 1,000 people had contributed to a fund to pay for Tyler's funeral.
