Muslim-majority Pakistan is nervously watching as its massive neighbor to the east moves to elect a party that is feared to be strongly anti-Islam, NBC News reported. India wraps up a six-week election on Monday and Narendra Modi of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is widely expected to win the race. Modi has been a divisive figure for over a decade in India and Pakistan. The two nations, which are both nuclear powers, have a history of hostility.
