Kyle Andrew Odom, the 30-year-old ex-Marine suspected of shooting a prominent Idaho minister several times outside his church Sunday, has a history of mental issues and acted alone, police said Monday.

Odom was arrested Tuesday throwing documents over a fence at the White House, Coeur d'Alene police said. Odom is suspected of shooting Tim Remington, senior pastor of The Altar Church, in the church's parking lot Sunday, a day after Remington delivered the invocation at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

The pastor, 55, was upgraded to fair condition Monday. Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said the attack was "preplanned."

A publicly available resumé, matching court and government records for Odom's address and other personal information, says Odom worked for several years as a flight expedition technician for the Marine Corps, based at Camp Pendleton, California.
