Donald Trump's Poll Numbers Drop as General Election Looms

Trump also has weak support from GOP party leaders

New polls show Donald Trump’s national position is hitting new lows, including with groups that are supposed to form his base, NBC News reports.

A collection of recent surveys by Real Clear Politics finds 63 percent of respondents hold a negative view of Trump, compared to the 30 percent who view him favorably. Another poll from Marquette University shows 70 percent of those surveyed disapproved of Trump.

Other polls show unfavorable views from women, white men and non-college whites.

Trump’s waning support isn’t just limited to the general public. Support from Republican party leaders is weak, indicating he may be unlikely to win a contested convention.
