A's Vs. Twins Lineups: Khris Davis Returns, Bats Cleanup in Series Opener

OAKLAND -- Khris Davis will return to the lineup when the A's open a quick three-game series against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.

Davis missed the last three games after getting hit by a pitch on the left hand last Thursday in Anaheim. He will bat in his usual cleanup spot.

Meanwhile, Chris Herrmann will make his season debut behind the plate and hit eighth. Herrmann missed the first 85 games of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in March. He slashed .333/.397/.667 with four home runs and 13 RBI during his 13-game rehab assignment with the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators.

Franklin Barreto will start at second base, giving Jurickson Profar a day off. Barreto was called up from Las Vegas on Sunday and went 0-4 against the Angels. He will bat ninth.

Right-hander Daniel Mengden will take the mound for Oakland, looking to follow up on a strong start in St. Louis last Wednesday. Mengden tossed six shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk, with five strikeouts. For the season, he is 2-1 with a 4.03 ERA.

Minnesota will counter with right-hander Jake Odorizzi, who was recently named to the AL All-Star team. Odorizzi is 10-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 16 starts this season. He is 1-0 with a 1.29 in three career starts at Oakland.

Here are the full lineups for the A's-Angels game, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports California and the MyTeams app. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. PT, with first pitch at 7:07.
