One of Colin Kaepernick's biggest supporters in the professional sports world is someone he's never met.
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony never met the former 49ers quarterback once the latter moved to New York City, but Anthony told The Undefeated he's Kaepernick's "No. 1 supporter."
Anthony was someone Kaepernick reached out to when his protest of police brutality and racial inequality first began, the 15-year NBA veteran said in an interview.
"I support him differently because I've seen it from the beginning," Anthony said. "I was the one he reached out to in the beginning when he was putting it all in play. To see it come into fruition and to see him follow through with it, I got a different respect from him."
Anthony, and his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, tip off against the Kings in Sacramento at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
