San Francisco landmarks are lighting up to support the San Francisco 49ers this week.
Starting Tuesday night, San Francisco City Hall, Coit Tower and the Embarcadero Center were all illuminated with red and gold lights.
The structures will continue to splash the team colors through Sunday (and beyond if the Niners beat the New York Giants).
If you would like to take a city tour of the light display, the light switches are flipped around sunset and stay bright until midnight each night.
Kick-off for the NFC Championship game is 3:40 p.m. Sunday at Candlestick Park. NBC Bay Area meteorologist Chrstina Loren is forecasting heavy rain at game time.
The last time the city of San Francisco showed its sports colors was in 2010 when the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. Back then, and it wasn't so long ago, the icons were lit in orange. Those lights welcomed in world champs last time. Here's hoping it works this time.
If you are among the few who are still waiting to jump on the bandwagon, watch the rap song posted by 49er fan Bailey. It was good enough to inspire the owner of the team Jed York.
