Report: Kings Extend Max Offer to Wizards RFA Otto Porter

The Sacramento Kings have taken their shot. According to Chris Haynes and Marc Spears of ESPN, Sacramento extended a max money offer to Washington Wizards restricted free agent Otto Porter on Sunday.

There is no official word on whether Porter signed the Kings offer sheet, estimated at more than $100 million over four years. If he chooses to do so, the Wizards have 48 hours to either match the offer of allow Porter to move on to the Kings when the NBA's free agent moratorium lifts on July 6.

The 24-year-old wing is coming off his best season in the NBA, posting 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 32.6 minutes per game. Porter also shot an impressive 43.4 percent from long range and is known as a quality defender.

Porter is close with veteran Garrett Temple, who joined the Kings last season after spending the previous four years in Washington. He would instantly fill the Kings' biggest need for a starting level small forward.

Washington has made it known that they intend any offer to Porter, but they would likely extend into the NBA's luxury tax to do so.
