Rams' Marcus Peters Fined for Crotch-grab Celebration Vs. Raiders

UPDATE (4:22 P.M. PT): Marcus Peters confirmed he was fined for his celebration Monday. This story has been updated to reflect that.

Was it taunting or paying homage? Either way, it's costing Marcus Peters.

The NFL fined the Rams cornerback just over $13,000 for a crotch-grabbing gesture he made while celebrating a pick-6 against the Raiders on Monday night in Oakland, Peters confirmed to reporters.

"Yeah, it's a lot of money," Peters told ESPN on Friday. "But it was worth it."

The Oakland native pulled off the same celebration his cousin, Marshawn Lynch, made famous in the 2010 NFC Wild Card Game with the Seahawks against the Saints in Seattle.

"I told you if I got one [interception] I was going to the hood and I was gonna do to him," Peters said while celebrating with his Rams teammates on the sideline after the interception. "You can find me in the neighborhood block, West Oakland."

Peters reiterated to ESPN Friday that the celebration was a tribute to Lynch.

"Who knows if this [is] Marshawn's last year playing in the league. S---, we was up, closed the game out, no better way to go out in Oakland. Who knows the next time we'll get to play the Raiders in Oakland -- they're going to Vegas in what, a year and a half? So it was something that was well-deserved for the hometown."
