The Sharks got on the board twice in the first period and held on against the Canadiens, for a 2-1 win on their home ice at the SAP Center.
Brent Burns and Joe Pavelski both scored goals for the Sharks. Pavelski and Joe Thornton led the attack with two points each.
Martin Jones saved 30 shots on goal in the victory.
