Record Book Awaits Splash Brothers From Beyond the Arc

The Warriors conclude their three-game East Coast road trip Friday night in Atlanta, where they will face the swooning Hawks at Philips Arena.

Coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 3:30, with tipoff scheduled for 4:35.

After winning their last four games by an average of 15.3 points, the Warriors (48-14) are granting their first "rest night" since the All-Star break. It goes to veteran guard Shaun Livingston.

After 12 years in the Warriors' front office, Travis Schlenk is in his first season as Hawks general manager. He is rebuilding mode, as Atlanta (19-43) will enter the offseason with three first-round draft picks and the sixth-lowest payroll in the NBA.

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Stephen Curry vs. Dennis Schroeder: Curry is a two-time MVP and Schroeder is Atlanta's best player and leading scorer (19.3 ppg, 29 games with at least 20 points). Schroeder also is one of the league's scrappier defenders. He'll try to annoy Curry and things could get interesting if he succeeds. If Curry is locked in, it won't matter.

INJURY REPORT

Warriors: G Shaun Livingston (rest) and G Pat McCaw (L wrist fracture) are listed as out.

Hawks: F DeAndre Bembry (abdominal strain) and G Antonius Cleveland (L ankle rehab) are listed as out.

LAST 10

Warriors: 7-3.

Hawks: 4-6.

SERIES HISTORY

This is the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The Warriors swept two games last season, are 5-1 against the Hawks in the Steve Kerr era and have won 10 of the last 11 overall.

THREE THINGS TO WATCH

STEPH/KLAY 200: Curry needs one 3-pointer to reach 200 this season and become the first player to post six seasons with at least 200 triples. With five such seasons, he is tied with Ray Allen and teammate Klay Thompson. Thompson needs six triples to reach 200 and join his teammate in the record book.

THE GIFTS: The Hawks don't do many things well, but they specialize in forcing turnovers. They lead the NBA, their opponents averaging 16.0 per game, leading to 18.6 Atlanta points. The Warriors go through spells when they are sloppy with the ball. Doing so in this game would give life to an inferior team.

COOK GETS A LOOK: With McCaw out, two-way PG Quinn Cook rejoined the Warriors after the All-Star break but has played a total of 18 minutes. With Livingston out, Cook is assured of playing and could get some extended run.
