Former Giants 1B/LF Pill Signs Minor-league Deal With Tigers

Former Giants first baseman/left fielder Brett Pill is back stateside after spending the last three seasons in Korea.

The Detroit Tigers announced Tuesday the club signed Pill to a minor-league deal. Terms of the deal are unknown at this time. 

Pill, selected in the seventh round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Giants, has played his whole three-year MLB career (2011-13) in San Francisco. Over a span of 111 games played, Pill hit .233/.279/.404 with nine home runs for the Giants. 

Playing for the Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization, Pill, now 32, slashed .312/.359/.521 and slugged 20 home runs in 2016.

Pill bashed a total of 61 home runs over three seasons in Korea.
