The Golden State Warriors now hold the NBA record for best start to a season.
Tuesday's 111-77 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Oracle Arena in Oakland launched the Warriors into the history books as the first team to open a season with 16 consecutive wins.
With Stephen Curry leading the way with a game-high 24 points and nine assists, the Warriors also became the fifth NBA team to win 20 in a row (including four at the end of last season) while also recording their 27th consecutive victory at Oracle.
The reigning NBA champs will look to continue its win streak on Friday when they face the Phoenix Suns.
