Kings Get Two Players in Rising Stars Game, But De'Aaron Fox Left Off Roster

Two in, one left out.

The NBA announced the rosters for their annual Rising Stars game at All-Star weekend Wednesday afternoon. Rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic and second-year wing Buddy Hield will represent Sacramento at the event as part of the World Team. De'Aaron Fox, the fifth overall selection from the 2017 NBA Draft, will not.

Bogdanovic joined the Kings over the summer after spending the last few seasons playing for Fenerbahce of the EuroLeague. The 25-year-old plays like a seasoned veteran for Sacramento, posting 11.4 points and 3.4 assists in 26.8 minutes a night.

The Kings acquired Hield, as well as a first round pick, from the New Orleans Pelicans in a mid-season for DeMarcus Cousins last year. The sharpshooting wing is averaging 12.5 points on 43.8 percent shooting from long range in his second NBA season.

Bogdanovic and Hield are the 14th and 15th players in Kings history to land an invite to the event and the first since Isaiah Thomas represented the team during All-Star weekend 2013.

Fox was lost in the shuffle of a deep rookie class. Three other guards taken in the 2017 draft made the U.S. Team roster in front of him, including the Lakers Lonzo Ball, Dennis Smith Jr. from Dallas and Utah's Donovan Mitchell. Rookie second rounder Dillon Brooks made the World Team roster as well.

Here is a look at the rest of the roster:
