NFL Rumors: Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. Trade Asking Price ‘ridiculous'

One superstar wide receiver already is on the move this offseason, with Antonio Brown joining the Raiders. The next domino to fall could be Odell Beckham Jr.

Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported Monday the Giants still are involved in talks regarding a Beckham trade. If that serves to be true, the 49ers will be calling the Big Apple.

But it sounds like the price would be hefty, compared to what the Raiders sent the Pittsburgh Steelers for Brown.

"They're not gonna give him away for a three and a five, absolutely not," FOX reporter Jay Glazer said Monday morning on The Herd. "Yes, teams have absolutely called and talked to the Giants."

Less than two weeks ago, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman refuted reports that he was shopping Beckham at the NFL Scouting Combine.

As Glazer noted, things certainly could change, and it sounds like they have when it comes to Beckham's availability. Again, OBJ's price tag won't be cheap, though.

"They're certainly listening, but their asking price is ridiculous for him," Glazer said.

Beckham, 26, is nearly four years younger than Brown. He's also dealt with injuries the past two seasons, and he signed a record five-year, $95 million contract last summer.

When healthy, however, Beckham is one of the best talents in the league. He still topped 1,000 receiving yards in 2018 despite missing four games, and when he played all 16 games in 2016, Beckham nearly totaled 1,400 yards.
