Sure, "selfies" are hot.
The next step is getting your selfie on a "fan face."
And on Friday, hundreds of Polina Edmunds' fan faces - created by NBC Bay Area - will be for sale at an Olympic Ceremony party at the San Jose Sharks Ice arena - where the 15-year-old San Jose sophomore trains.
Fans, friends and strangers can buy a "fan face" for $2, and root on the Archbishop Mitty High School sophomore from afar.
The faces - OK'd by Polina's parents, Nina and John Edmunds, show the 98-pound skater's cheery face, with her blond hair pulled back in a black and white headband.
All proceeds will go toward the American Cancer Society's Courageous Kids Day.
Polina obviously liked the face. She retweeted a photo of NBC Bay Area employees Shawn Murphy and Damon LaRose - her fan face covering their mugs - on Thursday from Munich, where she's hanging out and training before she heads to Sochi later this month.
