The D'backs jacked three home runs off Jeff Samardzija in his first outing of 2017 as the Giants dropped three of four to start the season with a 9-3 loss Thursday night in Arizona.
Samardzija pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs off eight hits. He also struck out nine.
Buster Posey was the lone Giant to have a multi-hit game. He went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a run.
Brandon Crawford and Aaron Hill also knocked in runs for the Giants.
San Francisco starts off the season 1-3.
