“The Freak” Hopes ESPN Doesn't Curse Him

Tim Lincecum shows off his home movies

The San Francisco Giants are finally getting some national publicity and it has nothing to do with steroids. In a sign that the Barry Bonds era might finally be over in San Francisco, the Giants officially have a new face for their franchise. And it couldn't come at a better time as the team kicked off its Cactus League season on Wednesday.

And the face is attached to a body that weighs only about 170 pounds. Tim Lincecum - aka "The Freak," aka "The Franchise," aka "Mr. Cy Young" - is the cover boy for ESPN the Magazine's latest baseball preview issue.

The article comes complete with home videos from Linceum's high school pitching days and some colorful commentary on his strange deli every style.

Here's hoping ESPN does not have the same curse that Sports Illustrated has blessed its cover boys with for so long.
