Closing out their toughest travel stretch of the season, the Warriors staggered and stumbled Tuesday night in New Orleans but never fell.
Though trailing for most of the evening, the Warriors caught up in the third quarter and closed out a 113-109 victory over a Pelicans team that pushed, and hard, for a full 48 minutes.
Stephen Curry poured in a game-high 30 points, and Kevin Durant fired in 27. Klay Thompson finished with 17 and Draymond Green added 10 as the Warriors won the fourth of five games on the road trip.
Green -- who recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists -- punctuated the victory by draining a pair of free throw with 1.4 seconds remaining after initially stealing the ball from New Orleans star Anthony Davis.
The Warriors (22-4) prevailed despite being outshot 47.6 percent to 44.2 percent from the field.
Davis scored 28 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked five shots to lead the Pelicans (8-18)
STANDOUT PERFORMER: After shooting well below his standard in the first four games, Curry ended the trip looking more like his usual self.
Curry’s line: 30 points (11-of-23 shooting from the field, 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, 3-of-3 from the line), seven assists, four rebounds and a steal. He played 34 minutes and finished plus-4.
TURNING POINT: Playing indifferent defense for much of the night, the Warriors were trailing 74-68 with 9:34 left in the third quarter before going on a 15-1 run that yielded an 83-75 lead with 5:59 left in the quarter.
Though the teams battled closely in the fourth quarter, even exchanging leads, the Warriors finally buttoned it up by holding New Orleans without a field goal over the final 4:46.
