Warriors Sign Former Ohio State Big Man

The Warriors signed free agent big man Trevor Thompson on Friday morning, the team announced.

The 7-footer averaged 10.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game last year at Ohio State.

He began his college career at Virginia Tech before transferring to play for the Buckeyes.

The 23-year old played for the Celtics in the Las Vegas Summer League in July.

Thompson -- along with Georges Niang and Michael Gbinije -- are expected to be waived shortly after tonight's preseason finale.

These three players -- plus Antonius Cleveland and Alex Hamilton (who were waived on Sept. 30) -- will most likely end up playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors.
