Watch Giants' Top Prospect Joey Bart Hit First Spring Training Home Run

On a day Bryce Harper rumors dominated the Giants' landscape -- and clubhouse -- the Orange and Black had a spring training game, too.

And the game, although just an exhibition, didn't disappoint.

Top prospect Joey Bart was part of a trio of Giants who hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the team's eventual 15-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.

Bart, a 22-year-old catcher, is the Giants' No. 1 prospect and is baseball's No. 22 prospect overall, per MLB Pipeline. The Giants selected the Florida State product with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 draft, and he appears to be San Francisco's heir apparent to Buster Posey behind the dish.

Bruce Bochy has already been impressed with Bart early on in camp.

"He's an eager learner," Bochy said last week. "You watch him and he listens and wants to take in everything ... I love the way he's carrying himself."

Bart is likely to start the regular season with the San Jose Giants in April. But given the Giants are considering a 10-year contract for Harper, perhaps Bart and Harper will be the faces of the big league club for the next decade.
