Burning Man May Expand Beyond Black Rock City

Popular counter-culture festival goes nonprofit; might expand.

Where will The Man burn next?

Burning Man may be in parts beyond the Nevada desert, according to SFist, which notes that the Burning Man Project, now a nonprofit, is positioned to offer burns all over the world.

Black Rock City, LLC, which puts on the festival of fun on the playa every year, is now fully owned by the fully nonprofit Burning Man Project, the Web site reported, with the ability and know-how to "cultivate its culture worldwide."

So where will the burn go next? Anywhere! "What’s transformational in Northern Nevada for one week a year can, with the right tools, be manifested everywhere," wrote one of Burning Man's founders.

Burning Man's bosses were cagey in saying where they might go next, but noted that the moment is "wonderfully potential-laden," SFist reported. And it's all about living in the moment.
