Stanford Student Attacked in Her Bedroom

For the second time this month, a Stanford student wakes up to find an unknown man in her bedroom.

On Saturday night, a graduate student was sleeping in her on campus apartment at Escondido Village when she woke up to find a man trying to sexually assault her. The woman screamed and the guy took off. She was not physically hurt in the attack.

Police say the woman offered a generic description of her attacker. It is not clear if he broke into her apartment or let himself in through an unlocked window or door.

This weekend the university sent out e-mail and text alerts reminding students to keep doors and windows locked. It also reminded people to not let anyone follow them into their building unless they know them.

There was a similar type of attack on April 2. A woman woke up at 2:30 a.m. to find a man in her dorm room. There were four other men outside. All of them took off when the woman screamed.

Police are not sure if the two incidents are related.
