    An Evening with Terence Stamp
Terence Stamp (center) as General Zod, in "Superman II" to be honored in San Francisco, Friday.

"Come to me, son of Jor-El, KNEEEEL before Zod!" Who can forget that line, belted from General Zod, played by Terence Stamp,  in "Superman II?"

Stamp, one of cinema's most iconic players, is to be honored this Friday, at the San Francisco International Film Festival, with the Peter J. Owens award.

He was born in a working-class London neighborhood in 1938, went on to work in advertising as a young man, and decided to become an actor. His motion picture debut was the title role in Peter Ustinov's 1962 film version of "Billy Budd," which he was nominated for an Academy Award.

He went on to demonstrate outstanding acting range, performing in films such as "Superman", "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", "the Hit", "Legal Eagles", "Wall Street", and "The Limey."

Tickets for the show are $20 for members and $25 for general, and can purchased here.
