A homeowner in Fairfax grappled with a creek running through his property for a while during Thursday's massive storm.
Video recorded by Gary Roth showed a flooded garage and office. The swift-moving water was knee-deep in places. The only saving grace was that the water didn't seep into the family's house.
The Roth family said Thursday was not the only time their property has been water-logged. Water usually spills their way during heavy rain if the Bothin Creek gets clogged upstream.
"This takes a lot of water but if there is trouble up stream it goes crazy," Gary Roth said.
People in the area spent Thursday concerned about Fairfax Creek, which rose steadily all day. Residents who live along the creek's banks said it was a nerve-wracking experience.
"It was just under the road," Jim Kirkland said. "I was concerned."
Fortunately, the rain let up and the creek started receding before causing any damage.
Back at the Roths, howeverm the damage is done. And clean up begins on Friday.
