Meet 007's New Miss Moneypenny

A few short weeks after the speculation started to fly, Naomie Harris has been confirmed as the most faithful of Bond Girls.

Harris, 34, is in final talks to star as Miss Moneypenny, opposite Daniel Craig's 007, in the next James Bond film, reported The Daily Mail. The story also implies that Javier Bardem has been locked in for the film, which is to begin shooting later this year under the direction of Sam Mendes.

This of course is a huge breakout opportunity for Harris, who first made a name for herself in "28 Weeks Later," had a small role in "Miami Vice," and gave a nice turn in the Ian Dury biopic "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

The film marks a comeback of sorts for Miss Moneypenny, who hasn't appeared in a Bond film since 2002's "Die Another Day." Harris will be the sixth actress to take on the role, following in the footsteps of Lois Maxwell, Caroline Bliss, Samantha Bond, Barbara Bouchet and Pamela Salem.

"Bond 23," (a title more than subject to change) starring Craig, Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Bardem, and Judi Dench, is scheduled for release Nov. 9, 2012.
