Google Apps Go Offline

Fans of Chrome rejoice: offline access to Google apps has returned. Everyone else feel free to continue on with your lives.

Google introduced new apps for the Chrome browser and OS that will keep users connected to email and messages offline.

The new apps will allow users to use Gmail, Google Docs and Google Calendar offline. And while there is only support for Chrome users right now, eventually the company says it will expand the service to other platforms. Offline Google Mail is the first of the apps to be introduced.

The one downside is the offline docs are currently read only but Google promises to change that in the near future.
