Lady Gaga's latest music video doesn't impress fellow pop diva Katy Perry, who called the clip's campy religious imagery as "cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."

Gaga unleashed the highly anticipated music video for her most recent single, "Alejandro" yesterday, and it did nothing to dispel the outrageous image she's cultivated with videos for "Telephone" and "Bad Romance."

"One thing remains apparent, Gaga is hellbent on outdoing herself with each new visual epic," Robbie Daw of Idolator.com said.

Clearly calculated to stir controversy, the "Alejandro" video shows Gaga herself, portrayed as a nun, with nearly naked soldiers cavorting around her. "She doesn't exactly blaspheme," according to E! Online. "She references Madonna circa "Like a Prayer," dons a red latex nun's habit, sucks on a rosary, sings in front of a crucifix and wears a red cross on her lady bits. You know, the usual."

Perry thought Gaga crossed the line, tweeting, "Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."

Meanwhile, a preview of Perry's "California Gurls" video premiered during Sunday night's MTV Movie awards. The preview generated hype for the punchy, synthesizer-driven song's soon-to-be-released full video.

Perry might now be eating her words from that Twitter statement. It was only yesterday that her fiance Russell Brand let the world know a dirty little secret about his pop singer fiance when he said: "That women is like a flatulence factory. The pop hits that she fires out of her mouth are nothing compared to what comes out the other end of her!"
