Miami rapper Trick Daddy always said he loved the kids. Well it looks like one of his proteges, Trina, AKA the Diamond Princess, has taken those words to heart.

Trina released a statement over the weekend that announced she planned to adopt a Haitian child in the wake of the devastating earthquake that rocked the island nation on Jan. 12.

"I am in the financial position to adopt; therefore I am taking it into deep consideration at this time," said the 33-year-old rap diva, whose birth name is Katrina Taylor. "I have always admired other individuals for adopting children not so much for their celebrity status but more so because of the 'nurturing' and invaluable change and joy it will bring to a child’s life."

According to several agencies, the earthquake left thousands of Haitian children orphaned. Many have already been brought to the United States and more are expected to land in Miami, where there is a significant Haitian-American population. Besides, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can't adopt them all.

Trina's noble gesture is quite the change from the sexual rap lyrics she used to vault to super stardom in the hip hop game. Her mega hits include "Pull Ova (that A$$ too fat)" and "No Panties" became anthems in Miami and earned her the nickname the "Baddest Chick."

Trina is ready to add another title to her list : mother. Trina stated in the release she felt it was time for her to "raise/nurture a child."

It sounds like she is ready to scrap the explicit raps for some different kind of rhymes - nursery rhymes.
