Nicki Minaj Is Writing a Movie, and It Looks Like Her Grammys Performance

Think of her Grammys show, heavy on the priests and pope impersonators, as a trailer for her upcoming movie

Nicki Minaj is writing a movie inspired by a classic horror film — no, not "Bride of Frankenstein," but "The Exorcist."

If you thought Nicki Minaj's Grammys performance was weird, wait until you see her movie.

Yes, the MC is writing a movie, and it might involve more exorcisms and levitations — at least, according to comments Minaj made Wednesday night.

Minaj caught plenty of flak for the heavy-handed religious themes of the show, but the Viva Glam MAC ambassador said at an event for the make-up brand that she didn't see the big deal, The Associated Press reports.

"You know how people write plays and movies? That's what I did. I wrote that and I gave the world a tiny little preview of what was to come," she explained.

The "Superbass" star also said she was inspired by the 1973 horror hit "The Exorcist." Her second album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," drops April 3.
