Tesla has rented the 500,000-square-foot factory in Fremont that was the former home of Solyndra, according to the Mercury news.
Because it is not known what Tesla plans to do with the factory, it is not known how many jobs it will create. But experts think Tesla will bring hundreds, if not thousands, of new jobs to Fremont.
Fremont officials tell the Mercury the city has made up all the manufacturing jobs it lost when the NUMMI vehicle factory and Solyndra closed shop.
