A feisty cow that charged at several police and California Highway patrol officers Wednesday morning was finally rounded up near a suburban Sacramento shopping center.
Officers responded about 4 a.m. and did their best to keep the animal off Highway 99 in Elk Grove.
The cow charged at several CHP officers as they unsuccessfully attempted to corral it at an Elk Grove Boulevard shopping center.
They eventually had to call in a cowboy on a horse to lasso the cow. Officials then got it into a trailer.
The cow was apparently not too happy about being captured, but authorities say it was not harmed.
It’s unclear how the cow got loose or where it came from.
