Juliani Cardenas was taken from the arms of his grandmother Tuesday night and may be headed to San Jose.

Police across California spent the night searching for a four year old child who they say was kidnapped from his grandmother's arms Tuesday afternoon in Patterson, Calif. in Stanislaus County.

Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert and fired up signs about the kidnapping along all of California highways.

The suspect, Jose Esteban Rodriguez, was last seen driving a silver Toyota Corolla with over-sized wheels and one back spare tire with a California license plate 6HBW445.  They two were possibly en-route from Patterson to San Jose where the suspect's mother lives.     Jose Rodriguez is accused of taking his ex-girlfriend's child sparking a statewide Amber Alert.

He is is the ex-boyfriend of Juliani's mother and is not the boy's biological father, Stanislaus County Chief Tori Hughes said. Hughes said he has an extensive criminal record,  including a conviction for manslaughter, and should be considered dangerous.

Rodriguez is a 27 year-old Hispanic male, 5' 9" tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a white and black shirt, checkered shorts, and a beanie.

Juliani is a Hispanic boy,  3' 6" tall, 40 pounds with black hair, and brown eyes, last seen wearing dark pants, light blue shirt.
