Bomb Squad Responds to Suspicious Package Reoprt in San Francisco

Seventh Street was shut down for a time.

Police say there was no merit to a report of a suspicious package outside the San Francisco Federal Building at Seventh and Mission streets Friday afternoon.

The bomb squad was called to investigate the package, which was reported around 1:55 p.m., police said.

Seventh Street was shut down between Mission and Market streets during the investigation.

The bomb squad declared the area safe shortly after 3:30 p.m., police Officer Carlos Manfredi said.
