A Hayward home was damaged by a fire overnight and officials put out the flames early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Hayward Police Department and Alameda County Sheriff’s deputies were the first to arrive at the one-alarm structural fire on 22467 Meekland Avenue near Highway 880.
Alameda County Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Kramm said when firefighters arrived on scene, the front portion of the home was engulfed in flames.
The fire did not spread to any adjacent homes in the neighborhood, Kramm said.
The residents escaped the flames before firefighters arrived on scene.
