Teatro ZinZanni Not Long for Pier 29

The New Year will mark more than a flip of the calendar for Teatro ZinZanni, the popular Bayfront dinner and circus show.

ZinZanni is getting the boot from its current home at Pier 29 -- where diners have been watching floor shows and trapeeze artists fly over their meals since 2000 -- to make room for the America's Cup.

A new home for the show's 35,000-square foot tent is currently in the works -- city officials have asked ZinZanni to stay mum on the new digs, but rumors from the Barbary Coast neighborhood association place the new location at Broadway and The Embarcadero -- but in the meantime, some 80 to 90 jobs will be lost, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Pier 27 and part of Pier 29, where the show has gone on, are slated to be demolished so the Port of San Francisco can build a cruise ship terminal in time for the 2013 America's Cup yacht race, according to the newspaper.

Tickets for Teatro ZinZanni's farewell-for-now holiday shows go on sale Oct. 3.
