The Oakland Police Department headquarters were closed to the public Tuesday after overnight flooding from a leaky toilet.
The public - many who patronize the records department for complaints, records, reports and other documents - cannot enter the administrative building at 455 Seventh St., Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.
The lobby and other floors were damaged when a plumbing issue on the third floor of the building caused water damage starting sometime early Tuesday, Moore said.
Repair and inspection crews are scheduled to clean and assess the building throughout the day.
Only employees are able to enter the nine-story building, Moore said.
