An emotional debate about guns and gun sales in Los Gatos took an ugly turn.

The owner of Templar Sports said he found a death threat at his home in San Jose Tuesday night.

Robert Chang's attorney, Don Kilmer, said his client is alarmed.

"The threat identified Robert as the owner of a gun store in Los Gatos," he said.

San Jose police are investigating and Kilmer says he alerted Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police.

The Town Council is scheduled to continue the gun debate at a special meeting Monday night.

Kilmer is suggesting the meeting be delayed. "I suggested they delay Monday's meeting to give police a chance to take whatever security measures they want to."

Kilmer added that Chang is taking extra security precautions.
