Patterson Pass, Tesla Roads Reopen After Mudslides Near Livermore

Delays are expected on Patterson Pass Road just east of Livermore as crews work on storm damage repairs late Tuesday.

Patterson Pass and Tesla roads near Livermore were closed Monday due to to mudslides in the area, according to the Alameda County Public Works Agency. Both roads reopened Tuesday.

A mudslide on Patterson Pass Road was reported at about 3:25 p.m. Monday just east of Cross Road, according to the California Highway Patrol,

Other mudslides were later reported on Tesla Road, which also forced the closure of that road as well. Traffic in the area was detoured back to Interstate Highway 580 as crews worked on clearing mud from the roadway, public works field maintenance supervisor David Luera said.

California's geological survey warns much of the Bay Area may be hit with mudslides this winter.

Public works officials will provide updates on the road conditions at www.acgov.org/pwa.
