Sheriff's deputies are continuing to search for a man who pulled a gun on an employee at a San Carlos Best Buy store during a robbery today, a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

The incident happened sometime around 1 p.m. when the suspect asked an employee to see some electronics, then snatched the goods and brandished the weapon as he exited the store, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s who was wearing a white jacket and blue jeans.

He fled in black BMW with dark, tinted windows, sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said. A Best Buy operator at the store, located at 1127 Industrial Way, said the suspect stole several iPhones at about 12:45 p.m.

He said all the customers were safe, and that the store did not close down.

The operator, who declined to give his name, said the store has incident procedures to follow when something like this happens.

He said 911 was called immediately, and police arrived quickly to investigate.
