Police Shut Down SJ Streets Searching for Felon

The SWAT team was called to the 5600 block of Blossom Avenue.

A San Jose neighborhood was swarming with police officers Friday morning.

The San Jose Police Department was searching for a wanted felon on the 5600 block of Blossom Avenue Friday, according to a spokesman. 

The person was wanted on suspicion of multiple robberies, including home invasion robbery and carjacking. 

Officers spotted the person around 3:55 a.m. and it was reported that he was hiding inside a vacant home on the block. 

The San Jose Police Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment team, otherwise known as SWAT, was on the scene.

Several streets were shut down Friday morning as of 9 a.m., including Blossom Hill Avenue (southbound) at Blossom Hill Road; Blossom Hill Avenue (northbound) at Gettysburg Drive; and
Comanche Drive at Canton Drive.

Nearby Frost Elementary School was not on lock down, according to authorities.
