Raiders Are Serious About Replacing Asomugha

Another day, another cornerback working out for the Oakland Raiders.

This time the Raiders are getting an up close look at Clemson cornerback Marcus Gilchrist.

The National Football Post reports that the Clemson product had a private workout with Raiders' secondary coach Rod Woodson before working out for the Atlanta Falcons.

Gilchrist is the third cornerback to workout for the Raiders leading up to the draft.

The team does not have a first round pick but it appears the Raiders are determined to find a replacement for Nnamdi Asomugha, who will be a free agent once the NFL lockout ends.

Asomugha is expected to be one of the hottest free agents on the market once it opens and while Woodson has said he would like the All Pro to stay, Al Davis has indicated he doesn't want to pay what Asomugha will demand.

The team also did what it could to retain its own free agents before the lockout period began, letting Robert Gallery walk away and not voiding Asomugha's contract.
