Several people were detained after a SWAT team swarmed the Easy-8 Motel in North Jose on Wednesday.

Police said people were taken in custody after what they call a brazen armed robbery of an electronics business near San Jose State's Spartan Stadium.

"They came in, conducted a takeover robbery where they ordered the people there to provide several things," Lt. Jason Dwyer said. "They left with electronics."

Investigators tracked the suspects to the motel and managed to forcefully flush them out of their rooms, detaining several people in zip-tie handcuffs.

Police said they recovered evidence linking some of the suspects to the robbery and detained nine people at the motel. There may be more suspects on the loose, according to police.

"When you get a large group like this, they're transitory, conducting their business out of motels." Dwyer said. "You ask yourself 'Is this really the first they've done this?' It's something we have to stay on top of."
