San Jose Fire Crews Battling Apartment Fire Near 280-87 Interchange

Just days before Christmas, several people are out of a home tonight after an apartment fire in the South Bay. NBC Bay Area's Kimberly Tere reports from San Jose.

Fire crews in San Jose are on the scene of an apartment fire on the 800 block of Delmas Ave., near the 280-87 interchange.

The two-alarm fire started just before 4:30 p.m. and firefighters have it under control.

Seventeen people were displaced as a result of the fire, and the American Red Cross is helping them find shelter for the night.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

San Jose fire crews tweeted photos of the flames.
