Son Held With No Bail After Parents Found Shot to Death in San Jose Home: Records

The son of a Bangladeshi-born couple who have lived in San Jose for the last three decades, was taken into custody after his parents were found shot to death in their home on Sunday.

Hasib Bin Golamrabbi, who is in his early 20s, had been missing until he was taken into custody Wednesday night. NBC Bay Area was the first to report through sources that he had been found near Tracy, Calif. in the Central Valley, coincidentally where San Jose's former top cop, Larry Esquivel, is now chief. San Jose police have not formally made the arrest public. Sources also told NBC Bay Area that the parents did not approve of the older son's  sexual orientation.

But jail records showed that Golamrabbi (his father's first name and last name put together) was booked on Thursday morning and being held with no bail.

The charges for the booking were not listed on the jail website. But San Jose police had been looking for the eldest of the couple's two sons since his parents were found shot to death Sunday inside their Lucas Court home in the upper middle-class Evergreen neighborhood. San Jose police classified the deaths of Golam, 59, and Shamima, 57, Rabbi as a double homicide. The couple has another son, a 17-year-old, who has been questioned by police and not considered a suspect.

"It's a relief," a neighbor said. "That somebody's been arrested. We wish the best for the family."

Sources who witnessed the aftermath before police arrived told NBC Bay Area that chilling messages were written on the floor and wall near the bodies. One message in black marker read: "Sorry my first killing was clumsy."

Another rant ended like this, sources claimed:  "I can’t be like you, telling a lie. I can’t love someone without telling them."

The parents have not been buried yet as the Santa Clara County Coroner will only released their bodies to the eldest son, who has not been found until his arrest. It was not immediately clear if their bodies would be released to their son, in light of his arrest.
