Kansas forward Thomas Robinson announced on Monday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the NBA draft.

“I’ve been blessed enough to have the option to forgo my senior season and enter the NBA draft,” Robinson said at a press conference Monday morning with his coach, Bill Self and little sister, Jayla, by his side.

Robinson averaged 17.9 points and 11.8 rebounds his junior year and led the nation with 27 double doubles. The first unanimous All-American since Blake Griffin, Robinson responded marvelously to more playing time this season, averaging 31.8 minutes a game for the Jayhawks after spending his first two years with the team in more of bench role.

Considered promising but more raw than polished before this season, Robinson eventually came into his own and took the Jayhawks to the NCAA championship game.

The 6-foot-10 power forward joins other Jayhawks the likes of Mario Chalmers and Josh Shelby to leave the program early for the NBA and is a projected top-ten pick in this summer’s NBA draft.
