Nike Launches Jerry Rice Tribute Shoe

Wearing them won't make you as fleet of foot as "Flash 80," but for diehard San Francisco 49ers fans Nike's new Jerry Rice tribute shoe is already a hot commodity.

Fittingly, Nike launched the red and gold Jerry Rice Free Trainer 5.0 NRG shoe on 4/9.

"Over 20 seasons in the NFL, no player embodied the evolution of training quite like Jerry Rice. From his famous workouts in the hills of San Francisco to his punishing gym regimen, Rice pushed his own boundaries so he could push the game’s boundaries every Sunday," Nike posted on its website. "His commitment to constant improvement produced the most receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in NFL history. His drive is the spirit behind the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 NRG inspired by Jerry Rice."

Rice has long been considered by many as the greatest wide receiver of all-time. Just in case you need a reminder of his many great accomplishments, check out the insoles of his tribute shoe which list a few of his jaw-dropping records -- most career touchdown receptions (197), most career receiving yards (22,895) and of course, three Super Bowl titles.

The shoe sells for $110 on the Nike website. But if you're looking to snatch up a pair right away, you're out of luck. It's already out of stock.
